CAMBRIDGE SPECIAL BITTER
release date:26 December, 1998
BITTER is a class of English traditional ale, with three general subcategories: Ordinary bitter, Special Bitter, and Extra Special Bitter or ESB for short. Terms like ordinary, special, and extra special don’t mean that one is better than another. Rather, these designations indicate in their broadest sense a difference in original specific gravity and final alcohol content.
Cambridge Special Bitter is brewed with North American pale and Victory malts, and two different styles of English caramel malt. Together they lend a warm, toasty malt flavor and aroma which is complementary to the fine, balanced flavor and bitterness of the hops. Kettle hop varieties are English Challenger and Fuggles, and it is further dry-hopped with whole Goldings hops from East Kent. This beer is unfiltered, cold-conditioned, and slightly less carbonated than our standard beers, in keeping with tradition. Enjoy!!
