OYSTERHEAD STOUT
Oyster Stout—no, it’s not some crazy stunt we brewers at CBC thought up just to get publicity. It’s a real style of beer that was brewed in the British Isles for the first half of this century. Oysters and stout have been a culinary tradition in Britain and Ireland for more than 200 years. It isn’t surprising, then, that some brewer eventually thought of joining the two. Created by brewing our standard Irish-style “Blackout Stout,” with an essence made from Donegal oysters from Ireland, our interpretation of this unusual brew combines the roasty, chocolatey, creamy goodness of an Irish dry stout with subtle notes of oysters and salt air.
