Pedagogue’s Pride
No need for a style background on this one, as it is one of the few beers we’ve made to fit the ”parameters” of one beer drinker in particular.
Unfiltered and at its best on the warm side, this beer could be thought of as a stout-and-brown ale hybrid. Dark brown with reddish highlights, the aroma and flavor profile are of Tettnang hops, dark roasted barley, raisins and caramel. The palate is full and somewhat sweet: the finish long and contrastingly dry. Alcohol content is approximately 4.7% by volume. Enjoy!
Clearly one needs connection to have CBC brew a beer in their honor. As a CBC customer since 1989, and more recently as Darryl’s partner, Mary Sormanti has’ em. We brewed Pedagogue’s Pride to commemorate her completion of a doctoral program in social work. In January she begins reversing the roles at Columbia University- hence the name of this beer. Look it up. You won’t be alone.
If you see Mary at the bar, feel free to talk with her about women’s issues, music, or beer. Just don’t call her “Doctor”- she has a mean throttle hold!
